Tennis Under the Moon

Friday, March 19, 2010
Tonight was the semi-finals of men's doubles at the BNP Parnibas Open tennis tournament being held here in the desert.  The US team of Isner and Querrey were heads over their opponents at 6'9" and 6'6" respectively.  But it was the setting crescent moon over the stadium that caught my eye.

Fly Me to the Moon

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

It's National Date Festival time where I live and all the carnival action is in full swing.  But it's at night with all the lights that it takes on a magical aire.  The moon was just setting as I captured the ferris wheel picking up more passengers.

Spring Moon

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

I'm thankful my friend called me this evening or I would have missed this beautiful orange moon. This would normally be called a Harvest Moon but tonight we received a real treat.

Tonight's Moon

Monday, January 12, 2009

I missed getting a photo of the full moon the other night when it was at it's fullest for 2009, well, actually, I tried but couldn't get the camera settings right. But thanks to my photographer friends I did it!!! I mean, I am amazed that I was able to get the craters with my small digital camera. Guess it pays to read the manual and know a little about how to make adjustments.

Rising Moon

Friday, December 26, 2008

Every so often we get a spectacular moon rise. And this was no exception. Night time digital photography can be challenging so I took my chances when I spotted this shot.
