Nap Time

Friday, November 27, 2009

I live near Palm Srpings and you know when the "season" opens by the number of Canadian visitors we get.  And they have arrived.   Even the Canadian Geese are migrating.  They love our golf courses.  Lots of grass and water.  Except they're a real messy bird for being so beautiful.

Goosey, Goosey, Gander

Sunday, January 11, 2009

I was at a friend's house the other day when this conga line of Canadian geese goes by on the golf course. We joke about the "snowbirds" that flock to our pristine valley during the winter months to soak up the warmth of the suns rays, but these literally are snowbirds.

It's Not Spring Yet

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Today, as I was hosing off the patio, I heard this honking noise. I recognized it as coming from Canadian Geese but it seems awfully early for them to be flying north through our valley. But there they were. In the usual "V" formation. Three groups went by and I never saw any others the rest of the day. But I can tell you this, they'll stop here for a while and enjoy our 70 degree weather before heading out.
