Rainbow Building

Sunday, April 25, 2010
Someone had fun with paint and a paintbrush. And a bit of artist license. I spotted this on the high speed train from Bordeaux to Paris. One thing I learned, it's best to sit backwards when trying to take pictures from a fast moving train.

Dinner Fixin's

Thursday, October 15, 2009

When we were in Bordeaux we had dinner at a one of those wondreful hidden restaruants.  You need to be a local to find it.  Unless of course Rachel Ray tells everyone about it on her TV show.  As we entered, we were greeted with this beautiful display of fruit and vegetables.  And we weren't disappointed.  The ambiance was spectacular, including a wine celler in the basement that can be used for private parties.  Oh, the name of the restaurant is La Tupina.

The Fruit Stand

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

While wandering back and side streets in Bordeaux we came upon several ethnic neighborhoods. But fruit stands look the same no matter where you are. Apples, oranges and pears.

Knockers of Bordeaux

Thursday, July 9, 2009

While in France this year, I decided to take photos of door knobs and knockers. Well, there were a lot more styles and designs than I was prepared for. But it was fun and gave me a challenge to see how many different ones I could find.

Parking Bordeaux Style

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

This scene really stopped us yesterday. And that's a Jaguar coming through the parking garage.

We finally arrived at Petit Rousset this evening. All 17 of us. Safe and sound and ready for 10 days of fun and painting. The French countryside is peaceful and quiet. We should all sleep well tonight.

Palais des Sports

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

It took two train trips today but we made it to Bordeaux this afternoon. It's an old city, parts of it still in need of cleaning and refurbishing but interesting none-the-less. We spotted this building as we were scouting out the city.
