No. 15

Sunday, June 12, 2011
Italian house signs can be plain or fancy.  But the blue on white ceramic numbers was something I found all over Italy.  The spray painted version isn't as attractive but does serve a purpose.  The flowering vine adds an artistic touch.

Coral Cactus

Tuesday, February 1, 2011
I always enjoy Spring in the desert.  When the flowers start to bloom the desert comes alive with color.  In some areas it's like an artist has splashed color over the countryside.

Tulips of Giverny

Thursday, January 20, 2011
Monet's Garden in the Spring is a real treat to both gardener and artist alike.  This is where he created some of his most famous paintings.  But the town of Giverny is quaint and charming.  It's small and probably not much different than it was in his era.  The townspeople love their flowers as well.  These beautiful tulips were growing along the roadside.  Plus there are other gardens for the visitor to stroll through and enjoy.

Before the Pie

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Our weekly farmer's market offers lots of fresh produce.  It's fun walking around the various booths checking out flowers, produce and other products.  Sometimes you find unusual fruits and vegetables not normally found in supermarkets.

Summer Whites

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

The bloom of summer flowers is gone but not forgotten.  This mass of white cosmos reminds me of the glories of summer blossoms.  The colors, the different varieties, the fragrances of the delicate petals are what I love about summer.

The Flower Vendor

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Christmas in Cadiz, Spain. This vendor sat stolidly watching as tourists picked through her flowers and took lots of pictures. All without buying a thing. She sort of reminded me of Whistler's Mother the way she was dressed and sat so solemnly in her chair.

Morning Light

Friday, September 19, 2008

Early morning light is a photographer's delight and I wasn't disappointed when I arrived for breakfast at the French old farmhouse where we were staying. It certainly brightened my morning and got my day off to a great start.
