Evenings in the desert are the best. The light is spectacular and the unique shadows that are created by the landscape provide never ending entertainment. As the seasons change, so do the shadows.

Early morning light is a photographers dream. The colors are more intense and the longer shadows add drama to what could otherwise be a boring photo. This blooming crown of thorns didn't let me down.

Light makes all the difference in the way I perceive a subject for a painting. Although I won't paint this bronze sculpture, the light and shadow patterns certainly intrigued me enough to capture the striking contrasts.
