Taking a Bath

Thursday, November 4, 2010
It's fun watching pigeons, as long as they aren't in a tree about me.  They do enjoy taking a bath in whatever watering hole they can find.

Room with a View

This pigeon had a great place to live. A nice high wall overlooking the bay in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and lots of tourists to feed him. What more could you ask for?

Mexican Bath Time

Sunday, January 18, 2009

Pigeons taking a bath have been the subject for many of my photos. I don't plan it that way, I just seem to come upon them and naturally take pictures. These lovelies were in Puerta Vallarta enjoying the warm sun on a December afternoon.

Bath Tyme

I'm always attracted to birds taking baths and these pigeons were no exception. But these are Spanish pigeons. They were enjoying their afternoon dip at Parc Guell in Barcelona, Spain. Created by Antonio Gaudi in the 1910s, it is his most colorful creation. Known for his extensive use of mosaic, this park is spectacular and a must see when visiting the city.

Pigeon Hotel

Puerto Rico has lots of history and I'm sure pigeons have been there since Columbus discovered the island in 1493. And looking at the diverse variety of our feathered friends, this must be the melting pot for pigeons.
