Memorial Day

Monday, May 31, 2010
Today is Memorial Day, a day to say thank you to all the military personnel who protect our wonderful country.  The Palm Springs Air Museum, with it's fantastic collection of WWII airplanes, always has a special remembrance.  After all the dignitaries give their platitudes, a B-17 does a low flyover and drops thousands of carnations in remembrance of our military.  A neat sight to see.

Belated Flag Day

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I was remiss in posting something in honor of Flag Day. Most people today don't even know when it is. Do you? I took this shot at the Palm Springs Air Museum. It's a wonderful display of planes from WWII. Visit it next time you come to our beautiful valley. btw... Flag Day is June 14th.

Miss Angelina

Palm Springs has a wonderful Air Museum. Lovingly restored and cared for, these WWII planes serve as a reminder of the price we've paid for our freedom. This B-17 was being moved today while I was at the museum painting with our local plein air group of artists.
