After the Party

Sunday, March 6, 2011
There's still time left to celebrate Mardi Gras & Carnevale.  Two more days and all  the celebrating ends until next year.  So as they say in New Orleans, "Let the good times roll".  I'm not sure what they say in Venice but I do know they started it all over 700 years ago and wearing masks was a way of life for almost 6 months of the year.

Christmas in New Orleans

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Even the dogs get special treatment in New Orleans.  This cocker spaniel was all decked out and walking it's master when I came upon them at the corner waiting to cross.  Don't you just love the holiday neckpiece?  Bright and festive.

New Orleans Ironwork

Friday, July 3, 2009

Ornate ironwork abounds in the French Quarter section of New Orleans. Everywhere you turn there's beautiful balconies and railings. But oh how I love those beignets at Cafe du Monde. Yum!!!

Waiting for a Fare

Monday, January 5, 2009

This colorful driver sat patiently waiting for his next passengers in the French Quarter of New Orleans. I was fortunate to see this beautiful historic district the year before hurricane Katrina hit.
