Downtown Wallace

Monday, July 12, 2010
It may be small, but Wallace, Idaho was once a mining boom town.  They've got the town looking pretty spiffy now, there's antique stores, a museum and some pretty good restaurants, all with lots of local history on display.  I love the detail work on the blue cupola.  They don't make buildings like that anymore.

Fresh as Rain

Monday, February 15, 2010
There's a 19 acre tract of 400 year old virgin timber near Priest Lake, Idaho.  It reamained intact after an 80,000 acre forest fire burned the surrounding trees in 1926.  Named Hanna Flat after an early homesteader, it was delightful wandering the just rained foliage as the sun peeked through the clouds.

A Redneck's Dream

Saturday, July 25, 2009

I spotted this boat tied up to the dock at Priest Lake the other day. It made all of us laugh. Thank goodness the bullets aren't real.

Flowers in the Forest

I've been out of internet range for the past couple of days but I'm back in the civilized world and can finally catch up on my postings. I've been at Hayden Lake in North western Idaho. It's beautiful. Tall trees and lots of lakes in this area. Thursday we drove up to Priest Lake and spent time savoring the forest. I found these delicate white flowers on the forest floor. There are lots of treasures down low if you look.
