Thursday, October 20, 2011
Lots of beautiful snowy scenes (I see some Thomas Kinkade artwork here too...love him) set to Kenny G's "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." So relaxing and dreamy! If you enjoy Thomas Kinkade's artwork you can check Here for my post with some of his beautiful Christmas Scenes. Hope you enjoy the video. Enya-Journey of the Angels

Monday, October 10, 2011
Such a beautiful song and Enya has the voice of an angel! So calming and peaceful. If you listen, you will need to pause the music player on the left sidebar. Enjoy!

From the album: And Winter Come(2008)

Somewhere
 In a winter night
The angels
 Begin their flight;
 Dark skies
 With miles to go,
 No footsteps
 To be lost in snow.

 They fly to you
 Oh, new-born king
They fly to you
 Oh, angels sing

 One is sorrow
One is peace
One will come
 To give you sleep
 One is comfort
 One is grief
One will take
The tears you weep

 New star
 In a midnight sky
 In heaven
All the angels fly
Soft wings so true
 And all things
They will give to you

 Somewhere
 In a winter night
The angels
 Begin their flight

 Tonight
 All sing
 Oh, angels,
 A new-born king
 Tonight
 All sing
Oh, angels
A new-born king

B.E. Taylor Silent Night

Thursday, September 8, 2011
This is a beautiful version of Silent Night. B.E. Taylor has made it his own. He's from our area, Aliquippa, Pa. It began in 1994, with this single which was widely accepted by all. He and his band do a Christmas tour annually  to 40,000 fans which sells out two nights at the Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh and and two nights at the Capitol Music  Hall in Wheeling. I always hear his Christmas songs playing on the radio when the holidays are just around the corner. You can read more about B.E. Taylor on his website.

Hope you enjoy this version of Silent Night as much as I do! Don't forget to pause the player on the left.

My Favourite Time of Year

Friday, August 19, 2011
I came across a new Christmas song on You Tube. I think it's a lovely song. There were 35 musicians involved in the making of this record.  The Florin Street Band has asked on You Tube to share this song with your friends...so I am...I love the Victorian themed background! On his website, he states that every download at stores such as iTunes, will help it reach the charts and then it has to be played on the radio.  You will need to pause the player on the left to listen. I'm linking this post to Natasha's Pinning and Singing on the Weekend Linky Party.

Here is Florin Street Band's website, http://www.florinstreet.com/

Here is what they wrote:

Please share this Christmas video with your friends and help us make the charts by downloading the song from iTunes or Amazon in December 2011. This Victorian-themed Christmas song and video was produced without record company backing. After trying to gain record company support, British composer, Leigh Haggerwood, decided to make it happen himself so he gathered together his musician friends and wrote, produced and sung this song. The video features the skills of top director Nick Bartleet and Cinematographer John Perez (known for his work on Coldplay's Viva La Vida, Beyoncé and many other productions). You can help spread some Christmas magic so please visit our website and join us on Facebook. Thanks for your support!

My Favourite Time of Year
Words and music by Leigh Haggerwood

Verse 1

Lanterns lighting up the town,
Peace on earth is all around,
Everything is calm on Christmas Eve.
There's goodwill in the air tonight,
Angels sing by candle light,
Their voices carried on the wind.
When carol singers gather round,
When I hear that festive sound,
I wanna join with them and sing!

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,
A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.
See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,
'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.

Verse 2

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Give me mistletoe; it's the season to be jolly,
Wrapping presents, writing cards, helping decorate the tree,
But there's one thing that makes it all for me.
When carol singers gather round,
Angel voices fill the town,
It's like the world is joining in!
(Noel, Noel, Noel)

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,
A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.
See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,
'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.

Middle 8

Christmas Eve,
Still believe,
So excited,
Can't sleep,
When the morning comes,
Church bells ring,
And he's been!

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,
A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.
See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,
'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.
And it's my favourite time of year
(Noel, Noel)
End

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon (Video)

Wednesday, November 24, 2010
I had never heard of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra until probably a couple of years ago. I was listening to Christmas music at work and this song came on and I thought to myself what a beautiful song and wondered who sang it and then it came on again another night and I heard who it was...Trans Siberian Orchestra. Since then I've heard more of their Christmas music and do like some of the songs, but some are a bit rocking out for me. I'm more of a traditional Christmas music person, but this song stands out for me. The children sing like angels! You'll need to pause the music player to listen.

Children Go Where I Send Thee

Sunday, October 3, 2010
I was looking for some old Christmas clips and came across this one. I think it's so darn cute and it turns out that the little boy to his right is his son Brian. He is so into the song his father is singing!  Makes me smile every time I watch it!

This is such a magical song. I found the instrument he's using to play the song on, very interesting. Never knew such an instrument existed! It's a glass armonica.
