Grand Finale

Tuesday, July 5, 2011
OK, I know, two days of fireworks???  Well, that's what we had where I live.  A couple last night and this one tonight, sponsored by one of the local bands of Cahuilla Indians and held at the Fantasy Springs Casino & golf course.  Everyone was parking their cars in vacant lots and bringing out the camp chairs and drinks.  I thought it was a great display and in conjunction with the display, they played music on their radio station to accompany the fireworks.  A nice night was has by all.

Happy Independence Day

Sunday, July 3, 2011
We celebrate Independence Day yet we call it the 4th of July, rarely by it's real name.  We don't call Christmas December 25h Day or Thanksgiving the 4th Thursday in November do we?  Interesting that we seem unable to call this important day in our history by it's true name.  Either way, have a great day.

Happy Birthday USA

Sunday, July 4, 2010
The 4th of July is a great time for family get togethers, bar-b-ques, being with friends, going to the river to fish or waterski and of course, watching fireworks.  Many cities have cut back this year, most facing budget crises and trying to reduce expenditures.  But we've got four displays here in the desert.  Plenty for everyone to get their annual "fix".

Gettin' Ready for the 4th

Friday, July 2, 2010
It's almost the 4th of July.  A time for bar-b-ques, going to the river, picnics and having a good time.  Be safe this weekend and enjoy.

Happy 4th

Saturday, July 4, 2009

It wouldn't be the 4th of July without fireworks and I wasn't disappointed tonight.

Fireworks

Saturday, June 6, 2009

I was just getting ready to post my blog tonight when I heard a popping noise that I have learned to recognize as fireworks. It's a frequent happening here in the desert at various country clubs so I grabbed my camera and hoped for the best. I have a new setting for fireworks and I was surprised at the results. Can't wait for the 4th of July!
