A Break in the Storm

Saturday, February 6, 2010
More rain today.  Slow and steady which is good, gives it a chance to percolate into the aquifer.  We sure need lots more.  I had to run an errand this afternoon and spotted this bit of sun trying to peek through the clouds.  It didn't last long as we got more rain this evening.

Winter Storm

Friday, January 22, 2010

Another cold day and rain.  We had some sun in the morning but there was snow on the hill tops and you could see the next storm front coming in.  One more day and we should get some relief.

Storm's a Comin'

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

California is getting hit with a big storm.  From San Francisco to Los Angeles.  But here in the desert we get entirely different weather.  There are two tall mountains (both over 10,000') guarding our valley and very little wet weather makes it over.  We get plenty of wind as storm fronts move through, but very little moisture.  Right now it's really blowing where I live but I doubt we'll see any of the rain hitting the rest of the state.  Too bad, we're in a drought and need the water.

Clouds Over the Great Salt Lake

Monday, May 25, 2009

I overnighted in Salt Lake City last night during a rain storm. But today the sun was out with these beautiful clouds casting a magnificent reflection on the waters of the Great Salt Lake. It feels great to be home but I had a wonderful time in France and brought back lots of great memories.

Evening Storm

Friday, April 10, 2009

On my way home this evening I spotted these storm clouds sneaking into the valley. They were predicting rain and sure enough, I few drops fell on my newly washed car. It never fails!!
