Cool weather seems to bring on thoughts of balmy warm places. For most of us in the U.S., Christmas is always on the cool side. But that doesn't mean we can't dream of a nice tropical climate where we could be wearing shorts and sandals. These Plumeria have a great home, Bermuda, with a mild tropical climate most of the year.

Flying with the Birds

There's a beautiful park in downtown Hamilton, Bermuda. I don't know the name of this bronze nor the artist who created it but the birds ceratinly enjoy using is as a resting place.

Bermuda Palm

The storm never made it over the mountains and we have a perfectly beautiful day here in the desert. As I sit looking out my window at the palm trees I was reminded of the tropical breezes through the trees in Bermuda and the aquamarine blue waters that surround the island. But luckily, I don't have humidity like they do.

Last year I was able to visit the island of Bermuda for the first time. It was a teaching cruise for me so on shore days I get to play "tourist". We only had a one day stop and just our luck it was a Sunday. Everything closes on Sunday in Bermuda. So we decided to take the shuttle boat to Hamilton, the capitol, and enjoy walking around seeing the side streets since shopping was not an option. We had a map but decided to just wander and see what we could find. I love the clean, white roofed, pastel colored houses that dot the island. But this marine store was definitely not pastel. And the red car was the punctuation mark in the photo.
